Additional Information for our Festival Guests
~ Information and Reminders for our Guests ~
The Rankokus Indian Reservation, home to the people of the Powhatan Renape Nation, is located in southern New Jersey. The beautiful 350-acre grounds are a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan areas that are so near. We are located hour northeast of Philadelphia and 1 hour southwest of New York City. Although we have open fields and trails, much of our landscape is wooded, so be good to yourself and wear comfortable walking shoes. There are a limited number of wheelchairs available during Festivals and for Museum tours. By providing us with your driver's license, you may use them at no charge during your visit. Please inquire at the Information Booth. Except during Festivals and special events, there are no concessions available on the property.

~ Gift Shop ~
Our Gift Shop is open during Museum hours (Sat., Tues., and Thurs. 10:10 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.). To avoid disappointment, it's a good idea to call in advance, as due to Powhatan community events, occasionally the facility is closed to the public. During Festivals, the Gift Shop is open on the Reservation grounds. We accept MasterCard and Visa.

~ Etiquette ~
We are pleased to share our land, history, and culture with you, but we ask you to do so with respect. Thank you in advance for following these few requests:
  1. Recording of any type (audio, video, or digital) is strictly prohibited, especially at festivals and in our Museum. If you wish to take a snapshot photo with an entertainer, artist, and/or his/her work it is courteous to ask permission in advance. Should a photo be permitted, there is never a charge.
  2. Publication of your observations is exploitative and prohibited without prior consent from the Powhatan Renape Nation.
  3. Wear appropriate clothing. Beach-type wear is inappropriate and disrespectful.
  4. Do not interrupt performances unless specifically invited to participate by our performers. Parents, please refrain your children from running onto the performance mound.
  5. Please do not touch arts items/artifacts. If you have questions about particular objects, please speak to the Museum Guide, or artist/s.
  6. With the exception of Seeing Eye dogs, no pets are permitted at events or in the Museum.
